In an effort to ensure that each PageToFame submission receives votes as quickly as possible, we are temporarily closing submissions to Shorts. As the final rounds of PageToFame Full-Length have opened, user activity has gravitated towards those areas.
This is great, but it has created a bit of a slow-down in Shorts ratings.
By temporarily suspending submissions to Shorts, we will allow the current entries to receive votes at a faster rate. We will monitor user behavior closely over the next few weeks, and plan to re-open Shorts submissions once things even out.
In the meantime, keep that short story nearby (maybe do a final round of edits?) and get cranking on that novel you've been putting off!
—The WEbook Team

When you reopen the Shorts category again, please also return the options for short entries other than short stories; poetry is most important to me, but blog posts would also be nice. (I find it impossible to get a story down to anything approaching "short story" length.) If their removal from Shorts (several weeks if not months ago) was deliberate, it would be nice to know why. Thanks!

A general comment on submissions & ratings. I wonder if I'm being too tough a rater. I sometimes find interesting concepts that are terribly executed, full of grammar & spelling errors, weak verbs, huge chunks of back story instead of something actually happening, etc. Then I find out a third or more of raters graded the page a 4 or 5. Should we be rating first pages on good writing, or their potential?

Uggghh I'm dying right now for the shorts/poetry to be reopened. I've been looking high and low for a really great place to submit my poetry too online and I believe this is it....only to have been disappointed to find that they are 'temporarily' closed. I mean, can you atleast give us a time frame....like when they may or may not be reopened? Anything? If not...then I suppose I'll have to keep looking online....see if I ever come back to webook again, idk. Please give us some updates!! I can wait, as long as its not in vain...I don't want to wait longer then like...a month, tops!

It seems We Book is going by the times. For any viable organization to continue they must go by the times they are in.

Yes, I too would like to submit some poetry as I am mainly a poet. Published in fact by you yourselves, in a great anthology, but I would like to try for my OWN. I do have a short in erotica but it's been some time now since anyone else has rated it. Months in fact. IS there any hope this will change soon?

Any suggestions in a site that is open to short stories? Bueller, Bueller? It is clear that webook.com, is clearly out of commission to it's customers that are interested in reading/writing short stories.
